It is 3:00 in morning Jenny's water broke and we are at the hospital and in our room. Jenny is having contractions but if this one is like the two previous we have a long wait ahead of us. We're going to try to rest now and get things moving in the morning.

29 weeks

I am now 29 weeks along and feeling great. Getting a little tired now that I'm in the third trimester and my hips are sore after sitting on the floor with the kiddos. All in all I'm good. I just had an appointment today with a specialist to check baby girls kidneys. The left kidney is normal and functioning great. Which is really good news. The right kidney is filled with fluid, but is still a healthy organ. So I have to have another ultrasound at the specialist in a month and hope things have changed, if not I will be sent to see a uralogist to figure out if they want to continue monitoring her after she's born or do a procedure to straighten out the tubing that connects the kindey to the bladder. They are not too concerned and I'm praying she will out grow this, which is most common. Everyone keep her in your prayers! Will and Addy are getting excited for her to get here. I can't wait to get there rooms set up! and Derek is still trying to decide what names he likes. I have my favorite so I might just have to talk him into it. Keep you posted!

Baby Girl!!

We're having a girl! I had my 24 week check up and decided to have the ultrasound tech write down the sex of the baby and seal it in an envelope so Derek and I could find out together. During my ultrasound they took 4D pictures of our little girl which was very cool, I think she looks like Will. They did find fluid on her kidneys, which means we now have to monitor them by ultrasound every month. She could have a blockage in the tube that carries the urine from the kidney to the bladder or the valve isn't functioning correctly which lets some urine back into the kidney. It is something we have to watch and pray she grows out of it. I also found out during my appointment that I do not have gestational diabetes, yeah! Now we are on the hunt for a girls name that both Derek and I like and that is hard! We also have to go through all of Will's clothes that we have stored, set up the kids new rooms and Derek and I will be moving our room back downstairs to the main floor. Busy life for the Springer's !

Congrats to Ryan and Nicole. Baby Wyatt Kenton was born today just after 4pm weighing in at 8lbs 6oz and 20.5 inches long. We are so excited for them and can't wait to meet our new nephew. Will and Addison asked if they could go to KS to play with their new cousin. We'll be visiting soon!!!

So I am dealing with something new this pregnancy. Unfortunately I have developed varicose veins that are pretty uncomfortable. Lucky me gets to wear full maternity compression stockings. Very cute! Walking a lot to get the blood flowing and resting with my legs elevated has helped. My doctor says they will most likely go away after I have the baby. I hope so!

So it's been a really long time since I last wrote on the blog and somethings have change in our lives. As you can tell I'm preggers again for the 3rd time and feeling great! I will be 22 weeks on Tuesday and had my ultrasound done almost 2 weeks ago now. We did not find out what we are having and it's killing me. I love the surprise at the birth, but for some reason I really want to know this time. So this got me looking back at all the old posts I had made during my pregnancies with Will and Addison and I thought I reallly need to be blogging about this pregnancy. I loved looking back at all the funny comments friends and family made and how I was feeling and what I was thinking along the way. So here goes...
like it said, i'm almost 22 weeks and felling great. I'm taking yoga twice a week which helps me feel somewhat normal. I can relieve stress, stretch, talk with other women about thier pregnancies and It gives me sometime away and to myself. I am still running my at home daycare this year and it's going well. I watch Will and Addison, my neighbors Hudson and Owen, and my good friends son Gavin. The kids keep me moving and very busy, so needless to say, I'm taking naps when they do. I have another doctors appointment in 2 weeks to have another ulrasound done to check the babys spine(couldn't get a good reading last time) and to take my gloucose test to check for gestational diabeties. I'm hoping to be in the clear for that. I'm also debating with myself and Derek whether or not I so find out the sex of this baby. Stay tunned to see if I find out!

Summer

So it's been way too long since I last updated the blog. Sorry:( A lot has happened this summer. We've been to zoo's, baseball games, Chicago, the pool (almost everyday), Las Vegas, and much more. Addison started walking when she turned 14 months and just within the last couple of days she is running. Her hair is starting to grow, I gave her a little trim in the back. She's not talking much yet. She says dada, mama, dog, ohooh, hi, and she signs more, all done, and please. She loves shoes, her dolls, matchbox cars, bath time, and Will. Will has been into every sport he can try. He has gotten very good at baseball and loves to practice in the yard. He dribbles the soccer ball, has been really trying to get better at golf, and loves to swim. He talks non-stop and is getting very silly and funny. He loves his little sister and is a big helper. We've had a great summer and I've started back to daycare. It's should be a fun year with lots of changes!

Addy is one! It's hard to believe that one year ago Addison was born. The time has flown by! Addy is finally getting teeth. Her bottom right tooth is popping through now and it looks like 3 more are about to. She is also starting to take some steps. She loves to walk back and forth between Derek and I. She has taken about 5 steps on her own, before diving towards Derek or I. She is such a happy baby and a real joy to be around. The boys just love her. Chicago trip

We're having a great time in Chicago. We have made it to The Art Institute, Adler Planetarium, and The Field Museum. We are headed to The Shedd Aquarium tomorrow and the Sears/Willis Tower on Friday. We have done some shopping, but more to come on Friday and we have done a lot of walking. It is so nice outside. This afternoon we are going to the park to enjoy the weather and see The Bean. Will and Addison

Wow! I haven't updated this in a long time. The kids are growing up so fast and I can hardly keep up with them. Will is 2 and 1/2 years old and Addison is 10 months old on the 25th. I put a lot of new pictures on picasa under 4 different albums titled Will's ouchies, Will and Addy spring 2010, Daycare december, and Finished basement. Since my last update we have finished the basement, Will has been to the emergency room, Addison has passed her first waterbabies swim class, and both kids have grown a lot.

I can't believe it's been 4 months already. She is growing so fast and doing new things everyday. Addy had her doctors appointment the other day and she is weighing in at a very healthy 15lbs 11oz (89%) and 26.8 inches tall (99%). The doctor said we can start her on rice cereal if we want, but I think we might wait a little longer so that she is sitting up a little better. Will is wonderful with her. He loves to hold her and help mommy get her diapers or pacifier or burp cloth. He even tries to share his toys with her. On Friday he brought her 3 cars to play with. We had a great weekend with Grandma Joy and Papa Bill. We went to the zoo and went apple picking. This afternoon the temp dropped and I bundled up Addison so we could go outside to play with daddy and Will, but it was too windy, we did get a cute picture though. Addison had her first date tonight with Gavin Caruth. They played on the floor together, ate a lot, and went to sleep. Big brothers Will and Owen made sure that the little ones behaved themselves. I hope everyone had a happy 4th. I know we did. We went to the Edina parade in the morning, where Will marched to the beat of the marching bands and waved to the clowns. Then after lunch and a nap, we went to visit our good friends new baby boy in the hospital. Jennon and Beth had Cooper James in the early morning hours of the 4th, congrats friends! then we were off to our other friends house, Kelly and Joels, to play, eat, and watch the fireworks. Joel put on a little fireworks display for the kids and Will loved it! Pyro??? Addison managed to sleep through everything. The bands at the parade, meeting Cooper, and the fireworks. We sure are lucky to have such a good sleeper! Today, the 5th, We went to the park waiting pool for the 1st swim of the season. Addison is too young to be in the sun and pool, so she hung out in the shade while Will splashed around. What a fun weekend! check out more pics on picasa.

Summer Fun!

It's been a beautiful summer so far. Addison, Will and I have been able to get outside a play a lot. Addison is awake more and Derek and I keep thinking we see her smiling. She is so strong already. She can push up off her chest and hold her head up and turn it back and forth. She loves to cuddle up and fall asleep on Derek's chest, but sleeps in the bassinet at night for about 4 hour stretches. Will is a great big brother, he loves to help out. He is also growing up so fast. Yesterday and today he brought me a diaper and told me he had a poop. anyways, check out some new pictures on Picasa. There are a few of Will standing in front of his tree we planted last fall. It's getting big just like will!

Daycare

I had a trial run for my daycare today. Our neighbors Owen and Hudson joined us for the day. We had a lot of fun playing cars and building towers out of blocks. It was too hot outside to spend much time out there, but we did do a little chalk drawing and kicked the ball around. Addy did great with all the boys. She slept through all the craziness and was even surrounded by the boys as they all wanted to "pet" her. I think she's going to have these boys wrapped around her little finger, I know shes already got her daddy.

Week with Grandma and Papa

Grandma and Papa Springer were in town for the week. They came to see Addison, help out around the house, and spoil Will with lots of special attention. Week One is Over

So we made it through the first week with flying colors! I planted flowers, went to the zoo, went to target, we've been on many walks, dinner at friends house, Edina art fair, and visited work. We've been busy and feeling great! I've now had 2 days with just the kids and I, it's hard to figure out a schedule, but I'm getting there and we're having fun. Today I did a photo shoot with Addison to try to get a picture for her birth announcements. She's so photogenic! Tomorrow we are heading to the Children's Museum for the first time. Should be a lot of fun for Will. I'll take pictures. For now, check out the new pictures of Addison on Picasa. Sleepy heads

I think Derek and Will are getting the most sleep around here. Although, Addison is doing a fine job of resting as well. She slept in 4 hour intervals last night, but after her 2:00 am feeding she decided to stay awake until her next feeding. She sleeps really well during the day, and can sleep through all of Wills crazy playing. I've been napping when Will goes down for his naps, so all in all the Springers are sleepy heads!

Well, bringing home Addison has been wonderful. Will is really warming up to her. He loves to watch her swing and wants to push her in it. He is always bringing her the pacifier and he know which one is hers. He's not so sure on the breastfeeding, he says, "boobies, baby, boobies, ouchie!" Pretty funny! As for addison, She is eating and sleeping really well. She's such a quiet baby so far. I was even able to plant the rest of my flowers yesterday, which my mom thought I was crazy for doing, but it was so nice to get outside, get fresh air and do what I love to do, garden. And I had my little lady watching me from her swing, sitting in the shade. I've been feeling great! Recovery has been so much better this time around. I did get a little sinus/sore throat thing while in the hospital that I'm trying to get rid of. I think it's just really dry up here. All in all, I'm having a wonderful time being a mother of 2! Will came by to visit his sister last night before her bath. Will got to pick out a bow for her hair, he picked out one for his hair too! Addison slept really well last night, so Derek and I were able to rest. She's a really quiet baby so far, and it doesn't take much to calm her down if she does cry. She's figuring out the breast feeding, and doing pretty good at it. She had some visitors last night, Thanks to all who stopped by, it's great to see family and friends. If you want to come visit, you are more than welcome. We are in room 430 and we'll be here until Wednesday at 12:00.

Baby Addison Joy!!

Addison was born at 4:41 PM and weighs in at a healthy 7 lbs 11 ounces. She has a great set of lungs and seems as healthy as could be. Mom was a champ and Baby and Mom are snuggling up together now. I will follow with pictures as soon as I can.

Things are progressing very well now. The nurses just came in and said that we may be ready to go in 15 minutes. Knock on wood, we should have a new baby before 6:00. Wish us Luck!!

Things continue to move along well. Jenny is dialated to a 6 at the moment and the doctor is on her way over to check in. Jenny's parents are on there way from Illinois and should be here by 2:30 so it is a race to see who gets here first, Baby or Grandparents.

Baby Update

Jenny is progressing about as quickly as last time, so not very quickly. She just had an epidural and is relaxing now. We're hopeful that things will start to happen quickly now. There have already been 4 births in hospital today and we have apparently been waiting the longest :( Jenny is in good spirits and we've had great nurses so far but we are very excited to meet this baby.

Well, we made it through the night with really no action. Jenny and I were able to get a little sleep in (me more then Jenny) and I remembered how much I love the pull out beds here. They checked Jenny a couple of times this morning and she hasn't progressed much since we first came in so they started her on Pitosin to see if that will speed things up. All in all she feels pretty good right now and the waiting game has begun.

1:15am my water broke! Derek Will and I had just gotten back from a fun night over and Kelly and Joels. Derek had fallen asleep on the couch, Will was in bed, and I was watching the food network when all of asudden I thought, oh no! I'm peeing my pants! I jumped up and by the time I got to the bathroom my pj pants were soaked. We had nothing ready for the hospital, but 45mins later we headed out the door. Derek's Aunt Mary met us at the hospital to pick up Will for the night, I felt so bad, he was so out of it. I miss him so much already:( They tested me to make sure that my water truely did break and started me on an IV. Derek is sleeping now, and I just got back from walking the halls. I should be sleeping now, but I feel wide awake. Next time we update, I'm sure Derek will be the one writing and I'll be in pain! Wish me luck!

Memorial Day Weekend

So still no baby, but yesterday I thought I was going to the hospital, then the contractions just stopped. I was in a lot of pain, uncomfortable, and emotional yesterday. Now that I'm awake this morning, I'm having more contractions and have a stomachache, we'll see. I'm going to yoga at 9:30am, so maybe that will help get things going. I just hope my water doesn't break during a downward dog or something!

Doctors appointment

Well, I had my doctors appointment this morning and got some more good news. I'm dilated to 2cm and my cervix is soft. Just before Dr. Block left the room she said "Monday would be a good day to have a baby!" Not sure if she was hinting at something. We'll see. I still need to pack my bag for the hospital, then I should be ready. I'll keep you all up to date. Of course I'll have Derek blog if I go into labor. Wishful thinking!!!

Almost 38 weeks!

On Wednesday I'll be 38 weeks. I can't believe how fast my due date is approaching. Last Monday my doctor gave me some good news. The baby's head is way down and I'm starting to dilate. I was 1cm dilated and I can really feel it. This past week I've had so many contractions that I'm sure I have dilated more. I'll find out tomorrow if I'm right. I've been staying active by going to yoga on Wednesdays and Saturdays and walking all over the place. This weekend Grandma and Papa Springer came to visit Will. On Saturday we went to the Minnesota Zoo and had a great time, then out for dinner to Chatterbox. Today we went to the oldest Catholic church in minnesota in NE minneapolis, which was beautiful and then out for a nice breakfast. After all the activities I was exhausted and took a long nap after lunch. Then back outside for a walk around the neighborhood. I want to keep these contractions going. Derek's working on the basement tonight and Will is going to bed early. well, got to go Will wants to go outside to play. I'll update our pictures once he's in bed.

Kentucky Derby

We had a great weekend and a really fun time at Kent and Kaki's Kentucky Derby party. Everyone was dressed up, bet on their favorite horse, kids played outside, and we all watched the race on t.v. Will's plaid coat was a big hit. Check out the pictures our friend Missy took while at the party.

34 weeks and counting

So I'm 34 weeks and feeling it! I have been so tired these last 3 days, but I can't seem to fall asleep. Restless legs syndrome is awful! I find out on Monday if I'm dilated at all. With all the contractions I've been having, hopefully I'm making some progress. Yoga is helping out a lot with how I feel. I wish I could go to class every night to stretch out and give baby more room in there. On the plus side, the weather has been beautiful and Will loves playing outside. Will went down the slide at the park all by himself and loved it! He had a fun Easter, looking for eggs and eating jellybeans! Getting to see family and friends was really nice as well.
On a sad note, K.C., our beloved family dog has moved on to doggie heaven. After 16 years, we had to make a very hard decision to put K.C. to sleep. Thursday night was really hard and the house feels so different without her around. We all miss her, but know it was the best thing for her.
With a new baby due just around the corner and Will growing up so fast and heading into the "terrible two's" the Springer household is a very busy place, not to mention the new house project we took on, finishing the basement.

Will had his first haircut tonight. He did really well, he sat still and was happy to chew on daddys phone or a rubber duckie. He looks so much older now, sooo cute! Grandma and Papa White were there to witness the big event and we all went to dinner after. My camera battery died at the very end of his haircut, so luckily I was able to get a few good pics of him getting it cut, but will have to take some pictures tomorrow of the final product when I have a fresh battery. Look forward to those!

25 weeks!

So I am 25 weeks along in my second pregnancy and can't believe how fast this is going. I had a doctors appointment today to test for diabetes. I had to drink a really sweet drink and wait an hour, then have my blood tested. Everything turned out normal and this baby is measuring right on time. They said that after my next appointment, which is in a month, I'll start going every 2 weeks. I can't believe I'm so far along. I kind of forget I'm prego because I'm so busy chasing Will. But, I'm feeling great, except for my hips. Check out the new belly pics.

Sleepyhead

Will woke up on the wrong side of the crib this afternoon. This is a glimps into the world of my grumpy boy. Luckily, he's as happy as a clam now. It just took him a while to wake up. After dinner, he has a full belly and is running all over the house screaching in joy. He thinks our dog K.C.(16) is chasing him, as she wanders around the kitchen looking for food. It's a fun game! As you can see, Will has yet to get his first haircut. It's out of control. Some days I think it's really cute, and others I'm not so sure, like today. Check out the pictures on picasa.

Will is 15 months

We've had a very busy weekend. Will got to experience a few new things. I took him to a huge indoor park in Edina on Friday night. He had so much fun and it really wore him out, his mom too! Saturday was a day of winter fun. We started the day with sledding at the park close to our house, then we went to The City of Lakes Loppet in Minneapolis. They have a 5K cross country skiing race that takes place on lake of the isle which is completely lite by luminaries. Then after watching the racers for a little, we headed back to Edina to go ice skating on Centennial Lakes. Derek and I wore skates and Will rode in a sled made for the ice. We had so much fun! Today is Super Bowl Sunday and we'll be heading to our friends house for a party later this afternoon. Go Steelers!! Check out Will's 15 month pictures on picasa.

Visit to K.C.

Last weekend Derek, Will and I went to visit Ryan, Nicole and Gavin in Kansas City. We had a great time and loved seeing Gavin. He was a great baby, so quite and calm. Will had fun too! He got to go swimming in the pool at the hotel twice and sleep in a king size bed. I think his favorite part might have been running down the 5th floor hotel hallway.

20 months

I am 20 months today, and feeling great! I had an ultrasound done this morning and everything looks normal. The baby is healthy, active, and measuring right on with my due date. The ultrasound tech took a good profile picture, so I'll have Derek scan it in and post it asap.

I hope everyone had a great holiday and is enjoying the new year so far. Will loved Christmas. He got a lot of great gifts from Santa and from family. We've been playing with all his new toys and even went sledding yesterday. He just giggled the whole time. Now we are just awaiting the arrival of the newest Springer. I'm now just over 16 weeks pregnant and feeling great. My energy has started to come back, yeah! The last couple of nights I've started to feel the baby move, in fact, I'm being kicked right now! Even though we've had a lot of snow this weekend, I managed to get out and run some errands today. The mall was packed and so was the hair salon, I got my hair cut tonight.
Derek has been busy insulating the garage ceiling so the guest room above it isn't so cold. He said he's about 3/4 of the way there. Once that's done, we'll move onto finishing the basement.
Will has been very busy playing and working on his walking. It's a lot of hard work, learning to walk comes with a few bumps on the forehead. His new favorite thing to do is run at Derek and body slam him while he's laying on the family room floor. That, and falling on the floor, rolling over and waiting to be tickled. I could tickle him all day long, his laugh is infectious. Enjoy the belly picture and go on our picasa to look at new pictures of Will.

For those of you who have not heard. Derek and I are expecting our 2nd baby! Yes that's right, I'm pregnant again! I am due June 3rd, 2009 and we are so excited! So Will and baby number 2 will be 20 months apart. They will be close in age and hopefully close as friends. This pregnancy has been different so far. I've had morning sickness this time around and I don't really have time to be tired, although I feel exhausted. On Monday I had an appointment and had an ultrasound. It was amazing to see our baby moving around and to hear it's heart beat and then look over next to me and see Will, who just one year and some 9 months ago was this little. We can't wait to meet our new bundle of joy. We have decided not to find out the sex of our baby and to be surprised as we were with Will. Derek and I will try to keep everyone up to date on our growing Will and growing baby bump!

Our baby boy turned one! Will's birthday was on Oct. 29th and we celebrated with a cupcake and a present. On Saturday, we had a big party for him with family, friends, and neighbors. He had so much fun and loves all his new toys to play with. The year went by so fast. Will is now walking and talking, he's tall, and loves his food. His doctor couldn't believe how long he is and how much he's saying. She walked in the room and said, "are you sure he's not 15 months?!" Well check out his new pictures on picasa.

We had a great weekend! A birthday party, a bonfire, apple picking, and animal petting zoo. Will is going, going, going! Crawling all over the places, pulling up on everything. He even crawled up onto the dishwasher door while I was unloading it tonight. Anyday now he'll be walking. Will is a great eater! He is eating a lot of solid foods now and self feeding most of his food. He has a great personality, funny and sweet. He loves to cuddle and overall easy to please. Yesterday we went to the Macy's day of music festival downtown Minneapolis. It was a beautiful day to be outside listening to all types of music. We saw the Teddy Bear Band(family/kids music), The Jimmies(real music for real kids/rock), Jumbo Ya Ya(fusion music), and The International Novelty Gamelan Ensemble(World Music). WE went inside the Orchestra Hall and they had all types of instruments that kids could try playing. Will was to young to try any out, but he loved watch the other children playing the violin and bongos.
Will has grown up so fast. He's just starting to try and crawl. He gets on his hands and knees and just holds it for a few seconds before falling onto his belly. He can maneuver himself by rolling and pivoting on his belly to get to toys he wants. He just started self feeding himself sweet potato puffs, he loves them! He can eat small chunks of bananas too! The other night during dinner he tried to pull himself up on the chair I was sitting in. He got himself off the ground, but fell over. I just know as soon as he's moving he's not going to stop, I'll be chasing that kid around town!

Wow! Time flies. Will has grown and changed so much in the last couple of months. He sits up on his own and loves to do so. He can't play and entertain himself for a lot longer now that he can sit up. He rolls around but is not crawling yet. He loves to talk! A lot of babbling da da da's and ma ma ma's. Just recently it seems like he is trying to make us laugh. He will laugh and look to see if we laugh at him. Some of you may have heard that Will was chosen for a Target casting call from a picture I sent in. Derek took him to the photo shoot and it went well, but Will did not get called back. We had a photo shoot of our own for Will's 6Th month pictures. He's so cute!

Tonight was our 2nd water babies class. Will loves the water and thinks it's so fun to jump in. We sing songs and learn to kick and reach for the edge. I think next week, Will gets dunked. Our friends Kelly and Owen are in the class with us, the boys have a lot of fun together.

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted and pictures of Will. He has grown a lot. He is now 20lbs and 29 inches long. He started soild foods between 4 and 5 months old and loves them. His favorites have to be carrots and apples. He rolls over from his back to his tummy, but is still working on rolling from tummy to back. He is starting to sit on his own now, with some support, just in case he tips over. The weather has been great this week and we have spent some time outside. Will touched grass for the first time and loved it, he came up with fists full of it. Stay tunned for more pictures. We are having his 6th month pictures taken.

Will loves to stand now. His leg are so strong, no wonder my ribs hurt so bad when he kicked in the womb. Will has started on rice cerel for a few weeks and just had prunes mixed in tonight. He is such a good eater. He sits in his high chair and waits patiently while I fix his meal. We're going to try peas next. hi friends! will has grown so fast, he's wearing 6-9 month clothes. some 3-6 outfits fit him still, but not for long. He goes to the doctor on Monday to see how big he is. I'm guessing around 17lbs! Will loves to smile and laugh, but his favorite thing to do is make raspberries with his mouth all day long. We'll be coming to visit family in IL the last weekend in Feb. We are so excited for Will's new baby cousin to be born. She should be here by noon! We can't wait to go visit.
It's been a hugh adjustment going back to work, but Jan has made that easier by watching Will for us. Will had his first head cold which was really sad to hear him cough and not be able to help. He's getting bigger everyday. He plays a lot on his own now and is liking tummy time a little bit more. Check out some new pictures, he's growing so fast, he's only 3 1/2 months and wearing 6-9 months clothing. He was 15lbs 12oz just over a week ago.

Derek's co-worker does photography as a hobby and set up a photo session for charity. We took Will to have a family picture taken, but we liked Will's solo pictures much better. Mom and Dad look a little rough. If you click on the picture, you should be able to view the rest of the pictures taken at the photo session.
As for how Will is doing, Great! He has great head control and loves to look around. He doesn't like tummy time too much, but we try it for short sessions. Will's favorite toy is his stuffed pig, Arnie. Arnie snores and talks in his sleep, so funny! Will is smiling and cooing so much now, it's my favorite part about being a mom. He is checking out his hands a lot and just found his feet tonight. He is a very curious boy and gets a very serious look on his face when looking at something new. One of the best milestones Will has recently started is sleeping through the night. He goes about 9 hours from the start of his last night feeding until he wakes up for his morning feeding. So, everything is going well here, we wish you all a happy new year!

Will's Baptism was great. He slept through most of it. Will wore a baptismal gown that is over 100 years old, it was beautiful. We had a private baptism so that was nice for our families since there was so many of us. Thanks to Matt and Kate for being the Godparents

This is the funny shirt that Matt sent to Will. He loves it! It's a little big, but he'll grow into it with all the drinking he does. William is a really good eater. He sleeps pretty well too. We've had a few rough nights getting Will back to sleep after he eats, but once he's out, he sleeps for about 4-5 hours. William and I are having a lot of fun during the day and we miss daddy and can't wait for him to come home from work. Will is looking forward to his first thanksgiving and his baptism this weekend, should be fun!

Will and I spent the day together hanging out in the basement. Derek finished the stairs so the smell of the polyurethane was to strong. Will spends more time alert between feedings during the day. He is pretty content as long as he's full and has a clean diaper.

William has passed 2 weeks old and is doing great!. He wieghed 7 lbs 12 oz when we left the hospital and this Monday when Jenny took him to his check up he had packed on a whole pound to get to a very healthy 8 lbs 12 oz. He loves to sleep in bed with Mom and Dad. He also lost the remainder of his imbilical cord this week and is officially an innie. William has begun to become more curious at the world around him and is beginning to make eye contact more often.

Today Will went to church for the first time. He slept through the entire mass, I think the music was soothing for him. After mass one parishioner said they were taking bets on how old he was. They guessed 1 week, he is 6 days, very close. It was a gorgeous day in MN, Derek raked leaves and I helped bag them. Will got out of doing yard work, he needed a nap. I took a bunch of black and white pictures of will today, so we need to get them developed. Hopefully college photography classes come in handy so we can get a good birth announcement picture to send out. We'll see!

Jaundice update

Will is good to go! Yesterday he went to his doctor's office for a visit and his jaundice level has started to go down. The highest it got was 13 and was back down to 12. Dr. Daniels said he looks great and just to keep and eye out on his coloring, but that we don't have to retest! Today, I had an OB nurse come for a home visit to check William and I out and go over any questions Derek and I had. We all received a clean bill of health and got a couple of pointers on breastfeeding. William even gained weight! He weighted 8.3 when he was born, 7.12 when we left the hospital, and he's back up to 8.0 as of today!

We were able to leave the hospital yesterday at about 4:00. William's jaundice is a little higher then the doctors would prefer and we took him back to the hospital today and will again tomorrow to have him retested. But other than that everything has gone wonderfully.

Grandma and Grandpa White came by today with a new friend for William and they have already snuggled up together. Yesterday went very smoothly. William did a great job eating and sleeping, eating and sleeping. I took a break this afternoon and went home to shower and the hospital sent me home with a stocking cap that William wore right after he was born so I could let K.C. get familar with the new smell that will be in the house. We'll find out soon how a 15 year old dog and a newborn share Jenny's attention. We also got the chance to introduce the little guy to Jennon, Beth, Kent, Kaki, Kelly, Joel, and Owen. Owen and William swapped war (birth) stories. This morning William had his circumcison he made it through like a champ. We will be waiting on the results of one more Jaundice test and if everything is ok we can head home this afternoon and enjoy our first Halloween together.

At the end of a long day William got his first bath. He didn't care for it much until he was able to sit in the tub and have warm water pored over his head. We finally went to bed around one o'clock and William slept until about 4:30. Since then he's been in and out and is sleeping right now. Jenny had breakfast and is feeling pretty good now.

Well after 10 hours of pain medication free labor Jenny is officially looped. Since the doctor came in and setup the epidural she has had at least 3 contractions and could feel the pressure but not the pain. Besides making her feel more comfortable the hope is the epidural will relax her and speed up the dialation process. The current count is between 5 and 6.

The nurses checked in again and Jenny is slightly more dialated. So she is making progress. We are starting to take bets on the time of arrival. I've got my money on halftime of the Monday Night Football game.

Good News! The nurses were just in and Jenny is dialated to 4 cm which is great becuase if they said 2 cm again Jenny might have asked to give the baby back. We should expect to see a change every hour from here on in. The contractions have continued to increase throughout the afternoon but Jenny remains in great spirits.

An update on Jenny and Derek:
Jenny is doing great. She is taking this like a real trooper. Derek is rubbing her back and talking with her. The nurse will be back in in another 20 mins to check on her to see if she wants the drugs. So far she is tolerating the pain well. It is a beautiful day in Edina and we are just so excited to see this baby come into this world.

The nurse came in a little after noon to check how Jenny was progressing. Not much has changed but the baby is in position and ready to come out. So they increased Jenny's level of pitosin in the hopes of moving things along.

The doctor just came in and broke Jenny's water. This should increase the contractions and move everything along. So far Jenny is only slightly uncomfortable and actually fell asleep for a little while.
